As many Texans displaced by Hurricane Ike return to their homes, they are finding watermarks encircling their abodes –telltale signs that mold and mildew are not far behind. If residents are willing to work quickly, says a local business owner, further damage can be prevented.

The Galveston County Daily News recently spoke to Bill Clement --the owner of the local Handyman Matters -- who offered nine helpful steps to follow to prevent further mold damage as well as 10 things every homeowner should know about mold.
